Fifa World Cup Venues

The 2006 World Cup will take place in 12 venue cities across Germany. There have been a total of 16 cities who apllied to be chosen from the committee - they have been cut down based on capacity, quality and safety standards and last but not least in respect of the location.
Each venue is looking forward to host at least 5 matches. The openening match will take place at the brand new AllianzArena in Munich. Berlins reunewed Olympiastadion is going to host the two finalist on 9th July 2006.
3 Stadiums have been awarded the highest quality standard aword of 5 Stars by the UEFA Stadium Committee: Hamburg, Gelsenkirchen and Munich.
