Logo and Mascots

The Logo:
"The Celebrating Faces Of Football" which is the official notation of the logo shows three smiling faces framing the World Cup trophee.
The logo has been presented in Nov. 2002 at the Arena AufSchalke to 500 journalists to kick off the marketing capaign for the event.
"The logo embodies the happy and joyful character of the upcoming FIFA World CUP" , OC president Franz Beckenbauer says.
It has been designed by the british agency Whitestone (London) and munichs Abold agency.

The cosmopolitan character of the event is also underlined by the official World Cup 2006 motto:"A time to make friends".

The mascot: Goleo VI and Pille
Goleo VI is a human size lion pupped. He has a companion named Pille, a talking football that possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of the game. The mascots are scheduled to have their own TV series and will appear als World Cup embassadors in the run-up to the final.



Official Poster
The winning project beat four rivals in a public telephone vote throughout Germany after a jury having previously preselected 5 posters for the contest. The elected poster shows a starry sky with stars in he shape of a football. It was designed by the Berlin agency WE DO Communication.
